2018 Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)
PEACE & GLOBAL WITNESS OFFERING
To Be Received During Worship
Sunday, September 30, 2018
On Sunday, September 30th, members and friends of the Presbyterian Church of Upper Montclair will take up the Presbyterian Peace & Global Witness Offering together with our regular Sunday offerings. The Peace and Global Witness Offering was created in 1980 to support the efforts of our Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) to live out a deeper commitment to peacemaking as part of our faithfulness to God. Its purpose is to bring peace to real people's real lives--both givers and receivers.
During worship on September 30th, the PCUM family will welcome Burkhard Paetzold, a dear friend of the church and a Presbyterian Mission Co-Worker supported by your faithful giving and, specifically, the Peace and Global Witness Offering. Burkhard, who hosted a group of PCUM teens and adults in Berlin and Prague in the summer of 2017, is in the United States sharing stories of his work with Syrian refugees and the Roma (Gypsy) people in Central and Eastern Europe. The Peace & Global Witness Offering will be used to further peace in the lives of refugees around the world and close to home. Please give generously in the name of the Prince of Peace!
