Welcome from the Pastor

Welcome to the Presbyterian Church of Upper Montclair (PCUM). If you are looking for a community where you will be nurtured and challenged, where you will meet God in singing, thinking and serving; where your and others' perspectives are honored; where children and families of all kinds are celebrated; and where hopes for a better world are grounded—not just on our best intentions, but on what God in Christ is accomplishing right now, then you will find a home here.

Presbyterian Beliefs

As part of the Reformed branch of Protestant Christianity and as a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), PCUM trusts that the God who created everything always reaches out in love first to us and to a broken world. In responding to God’s sovereign grace, Presbyterians value education, each person’s perspective, a commitment to justice in the world, and an informed, lovingly-critical engagement with with God's authoritative Word in the Bible.
