Welcome from Pastor Greg Horn

Thank you for taking the time to discover more about the Presbyterian Church of Upper Montclair, affectionately referred to by members and friends as “P-C-U-M.”  As Senior Pastor of this unique congregation, it is my privilege to serve and walk alongside a community of people as diverse and talented as they are dedicated to responding with joy and integrity to God’s amazing grace in Jesus Christ. PCUM is a special church, and you are welcome here.

This church's vision is to challenge and equip people of all ages and points of view to know and trust Jesus Christ—and to connect their trust in Him to living more abundantly in today’s world. Worship is Christ-centered, biblically-based and features a blend of outstanding traditional and contemporary music. Small and supportive groups shape a caring community. Several expanding, volunteer-driven ministries serve hungry and homeless neighbors in the Montclair, Newark and New York City area.  Our commitment to quality children’s and youth programs, life-long learning, and hands-on service to others comes naturally in response to God's self-giving love for us.  Here at PCUM, as Presbyterian preacher and scholar Tom Long says, we know that “we cannot prove the promises of God in advance, but if we live them, we find they are true—every one, every time.”

If you are looking for a community where you will be nurtured and challenged, where you will meet a life-changing God in singing, thinking and serving; where your and others' perspectives will be honored; where children and families of all kinds are celebrated; and where hopes for a better world are grounded—not just on our best intentions—but on what God is accomplishing even now in the self-offering love of Jesus Christ, then you will find a home here at PCUM.

Peace,

Pastor Greg Horn
