PCUM offers children and teenagers of every age and stage the chance to sing and take their rightful place in the center of this worshiping family of faith--offering thier unique gifts, leading the whole community in worship, and gaining experience in relating as individuals to God, to fellow worshipers of all generations, and to themselves.
The Joyful Noise Choir is for PCUM's littlest singers, from Preschoolers through First Graders, who sing and lead the whole congregation in worship on special Sundays throughout the year. Because, for Christians music is "the language of prayer," the Joyful Noise Choir rehearses twice a month as a core experience of their education in PCUM's Sunday School program. They are lead by Denise Silecchia who holds a degree in vocal performance, is a private vocal instructor, teacher of English as a Second Language, and is PCUM's soprano soloist and section leader.
The Children's Choir is made up of children in second through fifth grade. The Children's Choir sings in Sunday worship all year long and meets for rehearsal, fellowship and faith-development on Thursdays from 4:00 pm-4:45 pm in the Music Room.
The Youth Choir program is designed to give older youth and teens an opportunity to grow musically, take increased roles in worship leadership, and build lasting relationships. The Youth Choir brings 6th-12th graders together for rehearsal on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:00 pm before PCUM's Middle School Youth program and Sundays from 11:30am-12noon in the Music Room.
